MagSafe, Pixelsnap and Qi2 compatibility when switching phones

Magnetic charging accessories are often more reusable than cases, but rigid docks and model-shaped products can still depend on geometry.

Standards travel better than shapes

MagSafe- and Qi2-family charging accessories rely on a charging and alignment ecosystem rather than an exact phone shell. That makes a flat charger, wallet or mount a better reuse candidate than a case.

What still needs checking

A rigid stand can collide with a larger camera bump. A thick or non-compatible case can weaken alignment. Peak wireless charging speed can also differ between phone generations even when basic charging works.

For Google Pixel, Pixelsnap is Google's magnetic accessory ecosystem; Pixel 10 Pro uses Qi2 Pixelsnap charging and Pixel 11 Pro uses Qi2.2 Pixelsnap charging according to Google's current specifications.

Current examples in the checker

Pixel 10 and Pixel 10 Pro support Pixelsnap/Qi2 magnetic charging, while Pixel 11 generation models move to Qi2.2 with higher supported charging speeds on compatible hardware. Samsung Galaxy S26 magnetic alignment is treated differently: the checker expects a compatible magnetic case where Samsung requires one rather than assuming a MagSafe-style magnet is built into the phone.

That is why the checker separates basic wireless-charging reuse from magnetic alignment and maximum charging speed instead of returning one blanket yes/no verdict.
